Project Hope

David Breth, long time associate of the Magic Roadshow, and Lindy Scarborough, both from the Baltimore area, are bringing their brand of magic to disabled patients in area hospitals.

In an article featured in the Baltimore Examiner David and Lindy detail how the program, Project Magic, a program developed by David Copperfield with the hope of " strengthening dexterity and motor skills in disabled patients" is being used to bring hope to area disabled.

David started the Maryland chapter almost ten years ago. After bringing their innovative program to Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, he and Lindy hope to soon bring their program to other area hospitals like John Hopkins Children's Hospital and Upper Chesapeake Health in Hartford, who are receptive to their approach to aiding the disabled...

Criss, Paris, and Nathan

Although we are not a rumor mill, I did find the following, complete with photo's, very interesting. It seems that Criss Angel spent much of the past weekend with, who else, Paris Hilton.

I know, I know.. who hasn't been with Paris. But I honestly gave Criss more credit than that. As p;opular as his show was this past season, Criss positioned himself as a hot property in both Vegas and the entertainment world in general.

Although Magic Bullets is primarily a news blog, I suppose you can classify this as news. ;o)

Check out the pictures of Criss and Paris at LUXE LIFE..

While you're there, scroll down a little ways and catch an interview with Nathan Burton. Nathan has been asked to join Megan Mullally on her new TV show, and saw her into..

To quote from Luxe Life..

"Earlier this summer, Nathan gained national recognition as the most featured magician on NBC's 'America's Got Talent.' He performed more than any other competitor and was even brought back after being voted off."

"He made host Regis Philbin appear wearing a hot-pink corset, escaped from the "Microwave of Death" and flushed a police officer down a toilet. Now our hometown hero has become such a hit he's been signed for the 2nd season of 'America's Got Talent' as a guest star and he'll also coach the contestants. All in addition to his own daily show that he's hosted since May in the V Theatre at the Aladdin!"

David and Agasi, alone at last..

Agasi Vartanyan got on-up on David Blaine, and he's not happy. Agasi has been sitting in a plastic cube on the banks of the Neva River near St Petersburg, Russia, for 50 days. Yes folks, 50 days of nothing but water, radio, tv, and talking on his cellphone.

Covered only by a few local newspapers, Agasi is upset that the world media didn't flock to his location to take this inspiring and dramatic event to readers and viewers around the world.

Upon leaving his cube, Agasi promptly hopped in a waiting car and drive himself off..

" I feel offended because my efforts did not attract much attention, only local media wrote about it.."

Agasi, who weighed only 72kg at the end of his fast, lost a reported 23kg during his attempt at fame.

He admits being inspired by David Blaine, who spent 44 days suspended inside a plexiglass cubicle above the Thames River in 2003.

I've heard through the grapevine that Agasi intends to visit New York in the Spring, and attempt to walk from Time Square to Malibu Beach in California, just as his idol did in the nineties, wowing couples, kids, the homeless, inmates, and gangstas alike with his unique style of magic...

Calling All Benders

Uri Geller wants you..

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - After four decades of bending spoons, halting clocks, reading minds, and penning metaphysical thrillers, Uri Geller is seeking a paranormal protege.

A reality television show being produced in Israel, where Geller grew up, will feature 10 contestants vying for the title of "heir" to the world-famous celebrity psychic.

"The format will be something like 'American Idol'. We will keep the performances that are most riveting and amazing," Geller told Reuters on Wednesday, adding that viewers with "intuitive powers" will also be invited to call in and compete.

Geller, 59, declined to elaborate on what supernatural skills the contestants claim to have, and whether clairvoyants -- who might be assumed to have an edge in predicting judges' votes -- are taking part. He described the prize, simply, as "huge".

Keshet, a franchise of Israel's Channel Two television, confirmed on its Web site that the show was being produced but gave no further details.

"This is not a show where people have to prove to me that they are for real," Geller said, adding that he has no plans to retire. "I just want to be amazed."

Shawn Durham

Shawn Durham is just like many other aspiring magicians.. he works a full time job on the graveyard shift and spends his days performing for kids, in restaurants, and anywhere else he can find a gig..

The main difference between Shawn and you is - Shawn has his own article in the Modesto Bee and you don't. Now, don't get jealous or anything, just go there and learn a little something from a fellow magician...

Hypocrisy Anyone?

From Penn Jillette, the 'magician'..

"The fact that Beavis and Butthead - cartoon characters! - are being blamed for things in the real world seems so close to insanity that I can't imagine believing it."

"What makes the problem really awful is that you're dealing with the entertainment industry, a group of people who are traditionally spineless.."

------------

And two really 'profound' statements from the star of 'BULLS--T'

"Every nut who kills people has a Bible lying around. If you're looking for violent rape imagery, the Bible's right there in your hotel room. If you just want to look up ways to screw people up, there it is, and you're justified because God told you to."

"We aren't people who believe that just because we're performers our opinions on everything need to be known."

Huh ???

Free Restaurant Magician Video

I receive frequent emails asking about the art of working your magic in restaurants. It seems everyone who can't find a job anywhere else is convinced restaurant work is the way to go.

Now, that's not entirely false. Getting a job in a restaurant is considerably easier than getting regular outside work. After all, getting steady gigs requires steady effort, and some magicians aren't willing to put in the effort.

But.. even if you do succeed in getting that coveted restaurant job, you HAVE to be able to perform. And that brings us to our little video....

I can thank my friend and fellow editor David Breth for this gem. If you want to see a restaurant magician working his magic on his customers, take a look...

Gig gottle of geer

Nice review of Jay Johnson's Broadway show "The Two and Only!". Although the author, John Heilpern, is not necessarly a big fan of ventriloquism, he does write an interesting article..

Oh.. and when you finish the article, I've provided here a link that'll get you a FREE copy of a classic ventriloquism book, sold to thousands of young men in days past. I've compiled it as a PDF, and all you need to do is right click and 'save as' to your desktop.. ~Download~

(If you have a friend you think may be interested in it, pass it on...)

Gog’s on Groadway—Perils of Ventriloquism

When it comes to ventriloquists, I’m with you. They do not make my spirits soar. Even in childhood, I always dreaded a ventriloquist coming onstage with his wooden “friend” folded in a suitcase crying, “Let me out! Let me out!”

No disrespect to the masterly ventriloquist Jay Johnson, whose The Two and Only! is currently on Broadway, but I prefer magicians, with their whiff of the sideshow demimonde of card sharps, hustlers and circus freaks. True, the ventriloquist has always possessed his own twilight zone—the grinning dummy in the cupboard who flickers to life to murder anyone who happens to be around, particularly the ventriloquist. Or this creepy, personal favorite of mine: the dummy who’s really the ventriloquist! ~Read More~
